About Us

We are a Non-profit community club for school aged children. The purpose of our club is to promote and foster the game of badminton with affordable opportunities for players to enjoy the game and learn new skills.

Charity Tepana

Coach

Charity was practically born in a badminton hall, as the sport has been passed through generations in her family, starting with her grandparents picking up the sport in the army, to her parents and then on to her. Charity started playing competitive badminton at the age of 12 for Counties Manukau, traveling all over New Zealand for inter-association matches and national tournaments. Her highest honor would have to be travelling to Australia twice at the ages of 15 and 16 to represent New Zealand and her team wining bronze in Perth. Her Love for Badminton drives her passion to coach, to pass on her knowledge of the sport. She likes to encourage people to join the sport as it had shaped her into the competitive sports woman she is today. It has taught her discipline, responsibility and has humbled her into a kind person as competition doesn't always go your way but a respectful attitude goes a long way in life. For the past 3 years Charity has coached the U13s Counties team at Nationals, St Peters College and McAuley High School. Her McAuley girls team won Gold in their section in 2019 which has been her proudest moment yet!
